DANCE TECH WITH JHSU

Hey! Welcome to Dance Tech with JHsu. My name is Jonathan and I've had the privilege to engage with dance in many different forms throughout my career. Starting as a baby dance and kinesiology double major at the University of Maryland College Park, since then I've:

 

• worked as the social media marketing associate for Dance Place DC (2017-2020) creating unique marketing content for different companies and artists every week

• become one of the go to freelance artists specializing in dance photography and videography in the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area

• worked as a projection designer specifically for dance shows

• performed and toured both nationally and internationally with companies such as Rennie Harris Puremovement, PEARSONWIDRIG DANCETHEATER, Culture Shock DC, and Orange Grove Dance

• taught classes at local studios throughout Maryland, Virginia, and DC

• worked at Bates Dance Festival as the photography intern and then staff photographer from 2015-2022

• taught and adjudicated for multiple ACDA regional conferences

I love how dance has the ability to transcend language, age, and culture to bring communities together! And I think technology is a powerful tool that has the ability to amplify that ability even more when used properly. I've always enjoyed teaching and sharing my experience with others, so through Dance Tech with JHsu I hope we can all work together to grow and amplify our dancing even more, to connect even more of us throughout the world.
